Deacons FBC Committees Deacon of the Week
Diakonos in Greek means servant thus we get the new English word deacon. This is the perfect description for our deacons. FBC looks to our deacons to serve as models of the quality of Christian living that God expects of all Christians which include; being examples to the congregation, caring for families, proclaiming the gospel and leading in the church. Below is a list of the Godly men FBC has carefully choosen to carry the title of deacon. Call on them in need.

FBC Committees

All Church Functions - Help with all church fellowships and make arrangements for supplies.
Baptismal - Make all the necessary arrangements for the ordinance of baptism. Render assistance to the Pastor and to the candidates as necessary.
Benevolence - Meet the genuine needs of people through the administration of available funds and serve as a liaison for our church with other benevolent ministries in our area.
Bereavement - Help the bereaved in time of need by providing a meal in conjunction with the funderal service.
Church Decorating - Assist in placing all church decorations in the auditorium, chapel and fellowhip hall for churchwide functions.
Direct Mission - Responsible for the investigation and recommendation of all direct mission activities of FBC.
Evangelism - Responsible for the investigation and recommendation of methods to insure that all activities of the church are oriented to the Great Commission.
Glorieta - Responsible for policies, maintenance and improvements to the Glorieta Cabin.
Greeting - Make sure that there is a person at every entrance to greet people before Sunday School and church.
Heritage - Gather and preserve church record, documents, pictures and articles of historical importance.
Nominating - Lead the church in filling all church-elected leadership positions filled by volunteers. (Elected by church)
Offering Counting - Insure that all contributions to the church are properly and safely counted and deposited.
Personnel - Assist the church in matters related to employee personnel administration.
Preschool - Oversee all child care during meetings on church grounds.
Properties - Oversee all the property that belongs to FBC and to attend to any repairs that should be needed.
Stewardship - Develop and promote stewardship education activities that result in church members giving as distinctive Christian stewards.
Transportation - Oversee all vehicles that belong to FBC and to attend to any repairs that should be needed.
Trustees - (Taken from By-laws, Article IV) Three trustees elected by the church will hold in trust the church property. They shall have no power to buy, sell, mortgage, lease or transfer any property without a specific vote of the church authorizing each action. It shall be the function of the trustees to affix their signatures to legal documents involving the sale, mortgage, purchase or rental of property or other legal documents where the signatures of trustees are required.
Ushering - Create an atmosphere of genuine welcome and concern for all attending the services.
Family Life Center - Will create policies and procedures for the use of the new Family Life Center.
